Home Depot parking lots have repeatedly become targets for immigration raids involving masked agents chasing and detaining Latino day laborers and vendors. Home Depot denies coordinating with ICE, but advocates have called on the company to protect workers and stop treating repeated enforcement activity on its property as somebody else’s problem.
DEI rolled back without an announcement
In 2025, Home Depot removed its public “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion” section and replaced it with “WeAreTHD,” which omits the words diversity, equity and inclusion. A company that once described DEI as a competitive advantage should explain why that commitment disappeared.
Flock cameras track cars in the parking lot
Home Depot deploys Flock automated license-plate readers in its parking lots and allows local law-enforcement access. Investors and civil-rights advocates warn that federal agencies may obtain information indirectly through local police, even when Home Depot says it has not authorized direct federal access.
